Consumer habits are continuing to the trend toward convenience - with online food ordering and delivery traffic growing 300% faster than bricks & mortar dining. This is mirrored by the Food Tech investment with expectations set that the industry as a whole could reach approximately $50bn (a 60% increase over 2020). The Food-Tech industry has consequently seen a deluge of new ‘Unicorns’ companies enter the fray and disrupt the already competitive markets.
